Are there any known durability issues associated with the dv6tqe? Seems too cheap to be true. Any hinge issues, lockups, crashes? Battery issues? Power issues? Heat? Thanks guys.

You should probs read through the owners lounge thread. There are plenty of reviews or short insights on the build quality. There are hyperlinks in the OP.

If you are referring to the new 2011 refresh, it may be too soon to tell. I dont think anyone has had the new model longer than a week or so.

You may want to check out the official dv6/dv7 thread here:

The (6000) build quality is OKAY ... not great, but good. Metal parts are skin [deep] at best. Hinges look/operate BETTER than average. The keyboard keys DO NOT pick up oil nearly as bad as a Dell Studio 1747... not backlit, but decent. Audio on the dv7t is very acceptable... better than the dv6t... probably due to the sub-woofer. The bottom access panel was NOT designed to be removed/reassembled too many time. The dv7t w/9 cells is heavy to carry around. Battery usage is better than any other laptop I have used, but FAR from advertised... 4 hours real work ... maybe 6 under a lighter load. You are getting a lot of power for ~ a grand. I have experience some output audio issues using Skype ... speaker distortion after a while ... I haven't seen this in any OTHER application scenario however. Fraps capture works BEST with internal Intel HD graphic !?! ... haven't played around with it too much however.
