dv 1000 resolutions???

hey .. i just got my dv1000 couple of weeks ago and i was trying to make the screen look smaller and so i was jut trying mess around with the screen resolution under..settings.. the only setting which is at 1280 by 768 pixels.. looks good. othe setting its looks like crap... is it me or .. can some one help me..

Get a WUXGA monitor (Dell i6k).

What do you mean by crap? I adjusted the resolutions at Costco and it put a black border on the sides or top and bottom, depending on the resolution I wanted. Did you do this under Display, or under Intel Extreme Graphics in the Control Panel?

Just return the dv1000 and get the v2000.
It has got 5 different resolution settings.
Plus it looks better then the crappy cheap dv1000.

I admit the exterior finish of the V2000 is above and beyond more stylish and durable. The Quickplay is just hype and you can come out of hibernation faster than Quickplay can boot.

There are multiple settings for video but I did notice that resolution on the DV1000 is not good at anything other than the maximum setting.

To be objective the resolution of both computers are equal. Compaq is slightly sharper but DV is brighter.

Hype that is all the DV line is...

Its all a matter of personal taste lapboy, I like the black color and the extra buttons on top of the keyboard on the DV1000, makes it look more "busy and sophisticated". I also hate the bottom of the V200, all ugly black and rough and jagged, while the bottom of the DV1000 is smooth, clean plastic.

When you buy dv1000,you are paying for that multimillion TV advertisement campaign by HP.The overall quality of dv1000 is definately cheap,bottom not excluding.

I couldn't stand to hold the V2000 because of the very rough texture of the bottom of it.

The bottom of v2000 has more fins or groves to increase the grip.
