Why does that matter?
I think there is a guide around here on how to do the install, and retain quickplay etc.... Maybe not. You could always get a 2GB kit (2x 1GB sticks) for pretty dang cheap, and be done with it.
I don't care about quick play, so I just deleted all the partitions (please make your backup DVD's first). And installed windows xp. -
I know I had a bunch of trouble getting XP on my F750us. HP just does not support downgrades formally. However I found this thread that may or may not be of help to you(ie. there may be some links to xp drivers that will work your setup)

Here are a couple of official HP drivers and software that are XP enabled.

Was expecting that. Firstly nuwa1 I would also like to know your level of expertise when it comes to computer?
HP is simply trying to remove XP once and for all and trying to bring in Vista. There have been numerous cases where people have tried downgrading BIOS to support XP but have failed miserably. So I would personally recommend you to fetch yourself a 2 GB RAM kit. It is very cheap. Just about 2300 Rs. here in India($ 58) an slot it into your Laptop. Plus perform a clean install on the laptop. The great thing with this procedure will be that you will be set forever as Vista Support will go on for years now, XP support is coming to a close and you don't want to be sailing on a sinking boat, or would you? Let us know if you have any problems. -
and what about the recovery partition? is it alright to delete it too? i made 2 backup dvds.
and also can i install Vista with those 2 Dvds? is it includes Genuine Vista? -
As for your other questions make a set of recovery disks to help you out if anything goes wrong in the Clean install(Refer stickied topic on top of this forum for more). After that you can format the partition if you want.

Yes you can load the OS just as it came to for the first time from HP. Also it is genuine.

You could installing Quicktouch drivers here

Other drivers as well if you want. -
the main reason is to downgrde from vista is software support. some of the softwares i use are not competible with vista. and also i personally really like xp than vista. ya i know xp is in the sinking boat.
u are telling the truth yes easier way is to upgrade the RAM. even it is Rs. 2300.00 it's bit problem to mee. and here in sri lanka 1GB RAM is cost Rs. 4000.00
i bought this lap for my studies and had to get a loan too. he he. and i can't spend more money for thishe he.
sad situation no? -

is wireless assistant mean wireless drivers?
is there any links u have me to download other drivers for XP. such as Sound, Web Cam, Mic, Bluetooth, Card Reader, Finger Print Reader .......
Thanks -
That is the problem that I was mentioning to you about nuwa1. There really are few drivers for XP out there. You can find them if you search a fair bit through the internet.
Wireless Assistant is some stupid bloatware from HP and it in no way means drivers for your Wireless! You would probably have to try and find them on Broadcom's website if that is what make your card is!
That is the best I can help!
Good luck -
