    i got my laptop last friday, and so far i am loving it..

    the only thing that's bothering me is ever since ive used it, i havent heard or noticed the FAN actually MOVING. i think it is not working at all..

    i dont know but is this normal? how would i get it to work just to test if it is really functional?

    thanks.

    PS: is it true that to preserve battery life, i should remove it whenever i am using AC power and only place it if i will charge it?

    THANKS!!!

    If your notebook was overheating it would have shutoff automatically to prevent hardware damage

    Download HWMonitor. Your Core temps should be around 43c idle to 70c full load

    If its in range then its fine

    Are you sure it's not moving? Give us some cpu temps, maybe you just have a quiet unit.

    Here is another little utility called Core Temp http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

    Here is mine idled for about the same amount of time;

    Before updating to the most recent BIOS, my temps were almost 10C higher. I suggest you look to see if there is a newer BIOS for your dv6750, it may bring down your temps.

    OP: Try putting some load on the cpu, so we know if it overheats if the fan is not working. Put your hand near the fan exhaust and you should feel some warm air come out
