I just got my dv1000 with the 6 cell battery. I calibrated the battery as per HP's instructions. Fully charged, my battery is indicating 2:05 hours. I thought the reviews said the battery should last 4 hours. With wireless and surfing the internet, how much time are you getting on the battery? If mine isn't normal, I will call HP to complain. Thanks.

    Bigmamma,

I was getting 4.5 hours fully charged on the 6 cell with the DV1000. With WIFI on, I could get 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Battery life depends on screen brightness, whether wifi is on and number of programs running (assuming everything else is constant).

2:05 hours is too low. I would contact them. The 12 cell should theoretically get 7-8 hours.

I think you have to fully discharge and recharge the battery several times to break it in and then it'll get better battery life.

You got 4.5 hours titaniummd? I hear the max it could get was 3.5-4 hours. Did you acheive that with the screen set to lowest and all that?

The settings were at brightness 1 below maximum with Wifi off. What was even more amazing was how quickly it charged up.

I was amazed with the DV 1000's performance. It allowed multitasking and the speed was very good. The two factors that made me send it back: Screen resolution and the outer finish was so sensitive to scratches. The Dell Inspiron 6000 has an excellent finish even thought it is not that cool black like the V2000 on the outside or the DV1000 on the inside. I hope they made improvements on the DV4000...not that I will be in the market anytime soon.

Rahul, did you already buy the DV1000?
