This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    dv1000 came today and is going back tomorrow

    Unfortunately I have to send it back. I tried to upgrade to xp pro to get rid of all the junk that is preinstalled. During the initial install phase the notebook shut off. I tried again and the same result. Then I tired to boot up to xp home and got the same result. HP Shopping was nice enough and they are sending out a new one but I am kinda disappointed as I was really looking forward to this laptop.

    That's too bad, but it's better to get it right. The wait just really sucks...
