ive came to the conclusion that i want these laptop but i dont know if i need the duo processor and would rather save the money if its not needed

well i have a tivo and what i would like to do is beable to burn tv shows onto dvd(which includes changing the format ripping out the ad's and burning it). i wouldnt do this alot but maybe once a month. but while i am doing this i would have a whole other computer within arms reach, so i wanted to know if i could get along ok with the dv1000. keep in mind i would have atleast a gig of ram and 1.80 ghz.

Unless you do serious multitasking, Duo is not necessary. If you want to save ca$h, don't get it.

If money is no object, get it.

Even better is the Compaq v2000z which is even cheaper.
