    Hi Guys,

This mite be off topic. I was planning to buy customized dv1000 laptop. But there was mention of back to school sale in August. I called sales rep but couldnt get any confirmation. But he said that Aug is most probable time for back to school sale.

Now I am confused whether I should wait 15 more days for back to school sale or buy now. Anyone has idea about offers coming or what was offered last year.

Yeah, you were off topic so I moved this to a new thread.

As for sales, I don't recall, but on the dv1000 I can't imagine a massive difference. You could always order it now, then go back for a price adjustment if they go on sale in early August.

You may not have to wait. You can already buy them at other online retailers anywhere from $800- &1100. I got my DV1000 1.7 Centrino for only $1050. Also for discounts from HP, it's nothing like a discount from Dell. Some of these HP discounts arent even noticeable at the end total.
