I'm looking at laptops here in Canada and it looks like the dv1040ca is the "Canadian version" of the dv1000. Would I be correct? Has anyone had any experience with the dv1040ca?

Going by the fact that there is a dv1040us model, I think dv1040ca would be the Canadian version.

Remember, dv1000 is a series of ready-to-ship and customizable models while dv1040 (us or ca) refers to a standaard, ready-to-ship model.
