Hi. I've read through the forum here and there seems to be a lot of manufacturers for screens of these two models. Although I intend to buy my new laptop from HP (leaning toward the dv2000t) I wanted to see what they looked like in person. Here's what I found.

So far I have seen AOU, LPL and SEC screens. The AOU colors looked off but the LPL and SEC looked acceptable.

There was one screen that I couldn't find out the maker because Best Buy had it locked down in "demo mode". It was brighter but suffers from what I call "chicken wire" or "screen door". I saw this on Sony's last generation of monitors and found it quite annoying. If you stare at a particular bright section of the screen for a second or two you can see what looks like the black space between the pixels and almost like they are moving.

Is this the famed, wonderful QDS screen everyone seems to want?

Can someone with a QDS screen confirm this defect or otherwise identify what I am seeing?

    Thanks,
    Richard

    1. Right click my computer,
    2. Click property
    3. Click Hardware Tab
    4. Click Device Manager
    5. Click Monitor
    6. Under monitor you will see Plug & Play Monitor
    7. Right click and property
    8. Click on Detail tab
    9. From the drop down menu chose Device Instance ID
    10. There you should see the three or two letter abbriviation of company made that LCD.
