    Please help!
When I press the on/off button, all the lights on the panel are flashing. Nothing happens after that; no fan, no light...
Same symptom with/without battery pack. I also tried to reseat memory and harddrive but no luck.
    _Thanks

Welcome to the world of lead free BGA solder joint failure.

The GPU on your DV2000 has bad solder connections and needs reflowed.

Please point me to a DIY instruction or should I bring it to service store?

best to bring it to a professional / service / repair center to have it reflowed. some service centers have specialized machines to do just that. (DIY guides either uses an oven or a hair dryer, soldering iron or gun but it's going to be tedious lol)

here's a guide on how people do this

however if the problem isn't in the GPU and is actually on the board, the method above is going to be really tedious, hence the oven option (putting your whole board in the oven) or use a high powered hair dryer.

As I read from other places, the symptom doesn't seem video is the root cause. That's ALL the lights from the panel are FLASHING when on/off button is pressed. And those lights are gone dark when I released the on/off button. That is it. No sound from the fan; no beef, etc nothing else...

I will bring it to service store. Thanks all for your advises.
