My colleague's 2-year-old was messing with his 14" dv2000 and popped off one of the keys. We have the pieces (key itself, white plastic square, and then another white piece of plastic that is more round). We assume that those are the only parts. But we've been trying to get the key back on with no luck. Is there anyone out there who has done this before? We've tried every order of stacking the pieces but haven't been able to make it work yet.

    thanks!

I'm assuming the white piece is apart of the mechanism from the underside of that individual key. You may need to remove another key from the keyboard so you can compare it to the already detached key. This way you can put the pieces back together as they are supposed to me.

If that doesn't work just reply back and I will help you proceed from there.

That guide looks great. I'll forward the link to him and see if it works. If not I'll repost later. Thanks!

If that doesnt work, you can just buy a new keyboard for $20. Takes about 2mins to install.
