    dv2000 second mini-pciE connector (next to hdd/bios battery/flash)

Has anyone tried to mod the MINI2 solder point (next to hdd/bios battery/flash)
like the ones done for the Asus EEE pc?

    It says "MINI2"

I would happily try and mod it but i don't have the required tools. My old soldering gun is too large for sensitive work. The most i can do with it on computer boards is vmods and replacing non-SMD capacitors.

Oh btw, just noticed. Is it on the DV2000 only? I have taken apart both my laptops for some fixes but didn't notice the presence of extra connectors on the board... Then again, i haven't looked.

You can see the pads if you take off the HDD cover. They're just below the real-time clock battery.

Anyone that does try to place a connector on there, or already has one, could they post what port number MINI2 responds to? More details of the request in DV2000 - what port number is the second mPCIe port?

Yes, I've soldered a mPCIe header in a ICH7M based DV2000. It responds as mPCIe port3. So could put a tv tuner in there or additional wifi cards (if have antennas). Means can also do a x2 DIY ViDock (port3+port4).
