Hi...
Firstly I'd like to thank and acknowledge the tireless work that many people spend helping out on this forum, in particular JadedRiverLA through his posts and work has already helped me more than words can express, so Thank YOU![]()
I have spent a lot of time reading through posts and have fixed many issues already with the QuickPlay (have boot 2.3 based QuickPlay working and Vista QuickPlay version 3.0 working). I also have the new Beta Waikiki audio drivers working.
I have played around with the different QuickLaunch drivers (A/B and C) and confirmed that in the B and C version the QuickLaunch panel is no longer available. The buttons do seem to work and changing what they do doesn't really concern me just yet.
I have upgraded the laptop from XP Media Center to Vista Ultimate and one feature missing is the Volume "On Screen Display" (OSD).
I read a few threads and see a download for ehtray (this contains a executable file and a dll). I have also seen other posts with other solutions. I started to consider using the ehtray solution but got cold feet when I realized that the ehtray.exe and the dll file already exist in vista.
Is anybody able to comment on a desired solution, should I overwrite the Vista versions of these files? Is there a better way to get OSD Volume working again?
Once again, Thank you for help provided in these forums.
Saracen.

Any ideas?

Installing Microsoft Intellipoint Keyboard drivers did the trick for me in Vista. There was no side effects of installing this driver. AFAIK the keyboard and all the shortcuts work as they did before...

This is how the OSD looks like in Vista with the MS drivers installed...
ehtray is pretty safe and you dont need to replace any original file in your system. Just place it any folder you want and then run it like any other program. Ofcourse this doesnt matter much considering it doesnt work in Vista. -
Awesome, Thanks Miner, I'll take a look and report back, funnily enough I have the same osd on my desktop

Just one last question, do you know which keyboard driver you downloaded, I don't see an "Intellipoint" keyboard in the second option (Select Your Product).
Thanks, Saracen -
You can select any keyboard model since the actual download file is the same between all products. But I selected the digital Media Keyboard(second option in the list)

I went with the multimedia keyboard and now I have the OSD, thank you so much for helping me with this

I didn't see your second post and figured I'd try something
You are quite correct that all the drivers are included in the download file ITP32Eng.exe.
Thanks once again, I hope we will leave some useful tips for those who follow. -
worked for me! thanks!
