    dv2000t beeping at start up

    I am jsut wondering if this has happend to anyone else. as soon as i woke up this morning i walked over to my laptop and hit the power on button... as soon as the notebook turns on.. it starts beeping really loud (black hp invent screen). It did this for about 15 times then it... then it boots up.

    I think it's the BIOS trying to tell you something is wrong with your hardware if I'm not mistaken.

    That is definitely not normal.

    The BIOS speaker beeping 15 times is something I've never heard of before.

    It either means there are two different errors, or it could be your BIOS itself has an error in reporting errors.

    If you're using a Phoenix-based BIOS, the highest beep amount you'd get would be 9-2-1 (nine beeps, a pause, two beeps, another pause, and then 1 beep, for a total of twelve beeps) means the video card is incompatible, which is unlikely on a pre-built model.

    If you could get the brand of BIOS uses and the EXACT number of beeps posted here, we'll be able to help you more on what could be wrong.
