    Hi everyone,
I have a dv2000t running on WinXp MCE and it has recently started giving me a weird problem. I tried to run scandisk a couple of weeks ago after running the defragmenter cause my system was running slow. Anyway, when I clicked the button to scan the disk it said it needed to restart the pc and would scan on restart. Ok, I did that but when it restarted it did not scan the disk. I tried again and again and finally gave up.
The next day, when I started the computer it brought up a blue screen saying it was going to scan the disk and then said something about it cannot because it is NTFS format and has canceled the scan...and then it proceeds to boot the computer.

This happens every time I start the computer and I have no idea how to fix it.
Also, sometimes when I start the computer, it boots with no icons or taskbar on the desktop and I cannot do anything. I then have to force it to shutdown by pressing the power key and then restart it.

Can someone please help with these problems?

    Thanks,
    AD

Seems like the preinstalled software may be creating these issues.

Right click on c:\ in windows, navigate to the tools tab and click check now. This will invoke a disk scan.

Alternatively, you could also run a chkdsk c:\ in a DOS prompt.

I think u shud backup ur data and use the system recovery to format and reinstall Windows. Theres probably a way to fix all that but ive been through a similar problem and while it got fixed the first time round, it was impossible to fix the next time and almost ended up losing all my data cuz of it
