hey,
i started to get mad at my poor battery life on my dv2000z - six cell
and according to an hp representative in chat
it is only 2hr 30min max...
that is not cool... i was not told that when i bought the computer off the phone... and it's too late to return for the intel model... ahhh
-
Well there are ways to increase your battery life a little, such as if you do not need to use wireless then disable it, and you can also lower your screen brightness. There are many other power saving tips you can do.

my screen is aleady pretty dark and i can't live w/o wifi

interesting info about six cells... and according to BatteryEater's info.. my battery does not match up correctly
hp:
Energy Voltage 10.8V/10.8V
Amp-hour capacity 4.8Ah/4.4Ah
Watt-hour capacity 52Wh/47Wh
mine: 4Ah and 43Wh
this is from the buisness class page but i would it be similar...
ugh -
HP's 6 cells give 2.5h, thisi is a fact. Also, HP used to ship two kinds of 6 cell batteries - 4.0 and 4.4Ah batteries, which means that the former will give 2.5h and the latter about 2h 50 min.
Undervolting helps with battery life, disabling components you don't use helps too. Yet, I doubt you will get more than 2h 40min. The 12 cell battery gives 5.5h, some have even reported 6h. -
That blows. I dont know why they have to represent the battery life in terms of te bet case scenarion rather than when in average use. At this point you could try out the 12 cell battry. You can atleast double your battery life. As for the Intel version, I didnt notice any huge improvements in batter life. My dv2kt probably gives around ~6hrs, although this is just a educated guess since I havent tested battery life yet.

hey
i'm talking to hp more, and they confirmed on the phone that you should get only about 2hr 30 min on the six cell as it is designed only for that or something... she was suprised when i told her that the web site said 4:15 hrs, and she thinks it's a mistake - she thinks it's teh Ampere Hour value instead. either way it's quite annoying, but it's good to know. -
Yeah, reall few people got 4 hrs. The question is: would they still carry 4.4Ah battery? Or totally gone.
