I have to say, that with the exception of this particular problem, I am quite happy with my dv2000z. Now on to the issue.

    Background.
    dv2000z
    TL-56
    2GB of DDR2
    LightScribe DVD Burnner
    integrated Bluetooth
    integrated Webcam
    F11 BIOS

Wiped Xp Home off, but not before saving an image of the recovery partition.
Installed Xp Pro from my Action Pack and applied MS OS updates.
Installed the latest HP drivers off the model's support site.
    Installed Logitech BT Mouse software.

System runs fine so long as the wireless switch is off OR BT is disabled in the Device Manager.
When I turn BT on, the mouse and BT works fine for a while, then I get the ever lovely BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER bluescreen.

I've turned off Power Saving on both USB hubs in the Device Manager, but with no difference.

Sadly the F11 BIOS update didn't fix the problem either. :(

I'm tempted to wipe it again and install Windows 2003 server, then HP drivers, then MS updates.

Anyone have a less drastic idea?

When you say "Installed Logitech BT Mouse software", that didn't include Logitech's Bluetooth software did it? If so, that's your problem. It's conflicting with the Bluetooth stack HP provided.

Well, it was worth a try, but even pulling all the BT apps, drivers and services off and reinstalling didn't cure the problem.

I suspect it might have something to do with the bluetooth COM port. I was going to load 2003 server on it anyway, so I suppose this is just another catalyst.
