    Hello,

I have a HP dv2116wm on Vista and F34 version of bios. Since a couple of days I am noticing a problem. My laptop dosn't boot on first attempt of starting it. The blue lights, power light, wireless light all light up. Even the DVD ray can be ejected. The laptop however does not proceed to the boot-up process. After a couple of re-tries after shutting it off by pressing the power button for 4 sec, and re-attempting, it randomly starts.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
Do let me know if there is any further info that you may want.

    Thanks in advance and regards,

    Ravindra.

I had the exact same model you have. I had to send mine into HP repair center for the exact same problem you are having. Except mine didn't radomly restart. Only mine got to the point that when i turned it on all that would come on would be the blue lights and the dvd drive would open but the screen would be black. HP has had my computer for almost 2 months now. They said the motherboard needed to be replaced and didn't know when the part would come in. I'm now in the process of getting a brand new laptop from them that should be shipping next week. I think the only thing you can do is send it in to be fixed if it is under warranty yet. If you are able to try and back up your stuff on your computer. I hope you are able to get your computer fixed. If you send it in to HP be prepared for a long road ahead of you.

    Hello,

By any chance do you have the F.22 and F.23 version of the BIOS?

    Thanks in advance.
