I've had a dv2310us (amd) for about a week now, and upon flipping it over this morning, I noticed that the windows certificate of authenticity sticker has begun to melt away. The sticker for me is on the same side as the optical drive bay. The HP has always been on a flat surface and is used no more than 1-2 hours a day. Anyone else having the same issue? Have you contacted HP.

Run Core Temp and see what your CPU temperature is. It should be in the 50C range (the fan shuts off at 50C).

Do you have a HP TV tuner card? Those things generate a LOT of heat.

The HD is the other big heat generator. I forget where exactly the HD is on the dv2000 series.

Are you by any chance referring to the hole in the sticker(over the 2 security threads). If so, the that is quite normal and how the sticker is manufactured & is supposed to prevent or make life difficult for counterfeiters...

Yes! That is it. Glad to know it's supposed to do that. Thanks.
