I have ventured into the HP section for the first time with this post! Hopefully some of you HP guru's know how to help me out :)

I'm sure a lot of you guys have had issues with using the built-in 1.3mp webcam and other programs such as AIM, etc., as I have heard many problems. I have also been told there are solutions to these, but I do now know exactly what to do.

Here are the problems we are having with the webcam and AIM:

    1. The webcam worked when using AIM until I opened Quickplay for the first time. After that, even after (I think) I closed quickplay, trying to use the webcam in any other program would result in a "Webcam already in use by another application" error. I'm sure it was quickplay that still 'using' it. I could not figure out how to completely close quickplay - even with a restart, so I ended up just re-installing the webcam drivers. I have not opened quickplay since, but I know if I do the same problem will pop up. Does anyone know how to completely close quickplay or whatever is causing the webcam to not register with other programs, or if this is a bug with the HP software, a fix for it?

    2. When using the webcam in AIM, it is very "slow", "blurred", and "choppy". It is not like this in the quickplay screen. I mean the AIM software is getting something like 1-3 frames a second. Bandwidth is not an issue, as both computers are using very fast internet connections. I have heard of turning on some kind of "acceleration" for AIM's use of the webcam. Does anyone know about this 'acceleration' or how to improve the response from AIM using the webcam?

Thank you all for your help and reading this post. Any help is appreciated :)
