I've had a dv2530ea (uk) since the middle of August.
I'm not a big webcam user, but I was playing around with MS Onenote earlier and recorded some clips. When I played them back there was an interference tone (mid/high end) on the audio.
I tried recording in Quickplay and it was the same. I haven't used the 'cam much, but I'm sure this interference tone is new.
I've played around with the mike levels in control panel as it sounds like it could be feedback. No change. (Although I did notice that if I set the mike record level to 50 (out of 100), once I've recorded a clip using Quickstart and go back to the mike settings, the level has been reset to 100 ??!!??).
Anyone had a similar problem?
Or, more generally, how are people finding the quality of the audio tracks recorded along side video?
Cheers.

Have you recorded your voice in another application other than onenote?
I think onenote compresses audio a lot -
yes, I've tried it using an old version of SoundForge, it's just the same.

The internal microphone is horrendous. Totally, toally useless in my opinion. So useless, in fact, that I went out and bought this GE headset with a small detachable microphone. The microphone is great and eliminates that interference without being this big clunky microphone with lots of extra cord attached. It's awesome. (The headset part is crap. I just detach the microphone and the use it.)
