Hey
last night i upgraded my dv2500 to windows 64 bit ultimate. i got everything to work except the finger print reader. i installed the 64 bit drivers from hp's website. in device manager it recognizes it as personal identification device but when i swipe my finger i get nothing any ideas?
-
there is usually a software associated with the fingerprint reader. For example, even though your computer may have a webcam, you can not use it without a software that will allow video capture.
-
i was using verisoft software before i switched to 64 bit im gonna try and find it
-
i found the software on the website but i dont see anyplace to download it from any ideas?
-
any 1.....

Did you try the HP software/drivers support site?
Guess not.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2100&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3369421&lang=en
Go down to input devices or whatever and get the drivers and software. -
did that non of those are verisoft software. that was the 1st thing i tried. it installed the drivers so it recognized it as a security device in device manager but its just sits there dead.

Thanks. -
I have dv2690el model and i can't find the software either.
The url specified has a version that it is not compatible with my notebook.
At the end of the installation says that it cannot find the fingerprint server !? -

looks like you have th drivers installed, so when you swipe your finger nothing happens?
try uninstalling the drivers and installing these

newer version.
after you reinstall the drivers try re installing the software again. im pretty sure the 2500 software should work fine with the 2600 notebook its all the same hardware -
