I bought a dv2500t notebook 2 weeks and ago and when I tried to run QuickPlay and it would load Vista everytime.

When I contacted HP, the first CSR told me that it was an hardware issue and I need to send it back for repair, then she sent me to another representative who asked me to reinstall QuickPlay and when that didn't help he explained me that Vista does not let QuickPlay run by itself and I have to logon to my computer.

Can someone help me what is true here ???? The main reason I bought this computer was for the QuickPlay feature (not having to run windows to play DVD or audio CD) but if I cannot use QuickPlay then I am ripped off ????

That part is true. If you feel that you were ripped off, return the computer. Complaining doesn't help.

I've read somewhere in this forum that this feature of Quickplay (launch it without booting to Windows) only works with XP. With vista, it won't let you.

Correct. Quickplay was designed for XP. If you have Vista, you have to boot the OS first.
