What am I missing here? On HP's site, I custom-configged both a dv2500t and a dv6500t, both w/the same software and hardware--obviously, the main difference being the 14" screen on the 2500 and the 15" on the 6500.
Still, what am I missing? Even after applying the 20% coupon to both, the 2500 comes out to be $110 more than the 6500.
Is it because the 14" screen is more desirable than the 15"? Or is it that the 14" screen costs more to manufacture than the 15"? Or is it something else entirely?
Seriously, what am I missing?

The 15.4" is the middle price point for notebooks. Anything bigger or smaller, and the price goes up.
As for reason?
I have no idea. -

I think HP needs to do maths. If both computers have the exact same specs and the 6500 is cheaper and has a bigger screen. Where exactly did the extra money i payed for my dv2500 go?

But with the original question, it is the volume idea. More production = cheaper price. However, you also have to understand that HP can charge whatever they want for their laptops. They can price the dv2500t at 1 mill if they felt like it, but more likely, it's going to be influenced by cost/competition/profit.
dv2500t costs more than dv6500t? Why?
