I have a dv2500t that I recently put a fresh install of Vista on. I didn't keep the bloated original vista on the computer long enough to remember, but is there supposed to be any type of on screen display for volume, brightness, etc?

I have installed all the drivers and everything is running well but I feel like I am missing something. I cannot figure out how to adjust the "quick launch buttons" to do anything other than the original settings. They do work and the software loads at start up but that is it. Is that all there is to be? I poked around in the program files/Hewlett-Packard/HP Quick launch directory and found icons for what appears to be on screen display indicators but I cannot figure out how to turn the OSD on. Am I missing something?

OK, I just read http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=178729 and it appears that this guy is having a related problem with the quick launch buttons. Are these things really that problematic? Someone helpful in that topic suggests that if you install QLB correctly that all your quick launch buttons will work and so will your remote. That reminds me the "green button" on the remote does nothing on my MCE equipped machine. Well not quite nothing, it will snap the computer out of screen saver mode - but nothing else. Is there a qlb guide somewhere?
