    i have a dv2550se Verve HP laptop
    the laptop has be reformatted,
    recently there was a windows update on Vista,

    after installing the updates,
    my mouse pointer is GONE! i downloaded the mouse/pointer software at HP, installed it, and its still gone! there is NO pointer as in, even if i plug in the mouse, it won't work! anyone help? please!

    so the mouse pointer completely dissapeared?

    try rolling back using system restore for now
