I have seen these laptops for sale everywhere but there is limited info about it (online)?

Are these laptops just old and did HP just manufacture them, send them out and now they're going to the next line or what? The ones I find are with an Intel X3100 graphics chip so it's integrated and not discrete. I noticed that some that are mentioned are the ones with the Nvidia 8400 GS chip but I am not asking about those.

I am wondering specifically about the dv2715ca model. HP's website mentions a T5450 processor but only lists dual-core. Is this laptop with a core 2 duo processor? Is the laptop any good? I am wondering if I should save up for a core 2 duo laptop or buy a used Pentium M 1.7 GHz laptop (e.g. Thinkpad T4x series). The T5450 core 2 duo laptops are twice as much $$. Is that worth it? Also, is the HP dv2715ca supported at all (by HP)? I can't seem to find much info about them. I don't care about running Vista. But, I would like to know if it has a core 2 duo processor. For $900, is it a good deal or a rip off?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

hey i got the DV2715Ca from staples! i can tell you that it has everything i want.

However, when i got it, it was on sale for $899, and came with a printer (which i dont use). Since then the price has gone up, i wouldnt pay +$1000 for this laptop, not unless they have a dedicated video card!

All in all i love this laptop! i use it during lectures and ive achieved a maximum of 5 hours of typing lectures! THe fingerprint scanner is useful but not nessisary, but the 250GB HD is a must, since i like to download music.
