I believe my HD (toshiba 250gb) is running a little hot, so I'd like other owners of the dv2000 series to comment on their HD temps.
Mine used to run quite cool - about 40c. Then starting a few days ago, it idles at 54 - 55c, and runs as hot as 63c.
My machine is a few weeks old and the processor is running significantly cooler (45c).

same thing happen to my dv2700t before.
I returned it anyway..
dv2000 series has always known for its left palm saide's high temp -
I also have a toshiba 250gb (dv2890ca) mine idle around 40 and runs around ~50. On my old one (dv2412ca) it run up to ~60 because it was an AMD Athlon 2x, that one died
cause of the motherboard died and it was related to the nvidia stuff.
I think you better call them up to ask for a refund/exchange or a repair imho. -
It's really a mystery...
I really hope HP to confirm the fact that hard drives in some laptops run at temperatures above 50 degrees Celsius and hope it to provide more information about it.
I thought it could be HP's design flaw, but then I saw some people with very cool hard drives in the same type of laptop.
I thought it could be just the hard drive, but then I saw some people who had the same problem saying that changing hard drives doesn't help at all.
