After three weeks of waiting, I just received dv2700t Special Edition laptop. The laptop is great except for 1 stuck pixel (green) on upper left that's quite annoying.

I was wondering if anyone on this forum had any success at fixing stuck pixel on HP laptops.

I tried rubbing and tapping methods. They didn't work for me. I'm running jscreenfix to see if does anything. I guess I should let it run over night.

Would HP exchange this laptop? Based on some of the posts, one stuck pixel wouldn't qualify for replacement/repair under HP's official policy.

No, thats not enough grounds for a repair/replacement but you can refund it and get a new one if it really bothers you.

Try other pixel fixing programs overnight as you said its stuck and not "dead".

You can try asking HP to replace the screen. However, they usually only choose to replace it if the dead pixel is in the centre of the screen, not on the edges where it's not evident.

HP has replaced 2 screens for me before for dead pixels, so they are definitely flexible on this rule.

I attached some photos of dv2700tse.

I ordered it on 3/6 and received it on 3/24 so it was not quite 3 weeks (18 days). They said it will be built by 3/24 at the time of order. It was shipped on 3/21 from Kunshan, China and delivered on 3/24 (Chicago). The box had express tape on it even though I only selected free ground shipping.

I also received a new laptop from work on the same day (Thinkpad T61). They have very different feel to them that fit their respective target buyers.

I will see if I can live with a stuck pixel. 1 inch from top, 2 inches from left.

Oh man, that is one sexy laptop

Uggh, I want mine like RIGHT NOW

    [:EDIT:]

OMG, HP JUST lowered the price of their DV2700Tse Verve by $100 (plus a free upgrade to 160Gb HDD). Does anyone know/think this will be permanent ? Because I'm waiting until June/July to buy mine because that's when I'll have the money for it but I'm afraid if I wait TOO long, they'll stop making it :[

Ok... I also have a green stuck pixel in the top left quadrant of the screen. I just ordered a new laptop, same specs and plan on returning the old one within the 21 days. Hopefully after I get the new one.

I put a 7200rpm drive in myself so I can just throw it in the new one and not be out any downtime. Smart, i know.
