This has been going on for a while now, but it's gotten more frequent recently. Every time when I turn on the computer or wake it up from sleep or hibernation, the fan starts to turn on and off and on and off at seconds interval, as if it's breathing. I use the temperature monitor to check the temp, everything seemed normal, lowest at start up. I updated my bios, the issue appeared to be fixed initially, but after a couple of hours, the breathing noise returned again. This issue is driving me crazy, please help.

My HD sometimes keeps parking and unparking like crazy when i wake it up from sleep. Im guessing the power management gets messed up.

So is this a hard-ware related issue or software-related? Can it be resolved through reinstalling of windows?
