I thought I can live with 1 stuck pixel but now that I had another day with this laptop (dv2700tse), I am noticing a problem with the keyboard.

The lower right portion of the keyboard feels loose and noisy. It feels like someone forgot to screw down the keyboard to the chasis. The arrow keys on the lower right feels loose and makes "clicking" noise. When I press the ctrl/shift/fn keys on the lower left, they feel solid and quiet. Anyone else with this problem?

OK, I think this is going back for repair or refund. I will be calling HP tomorrow.

I had the same problem with my DV6000 back when I had it, i always thought it was due to the Express Card Slot and how it's hollow making it more prone to flexing. But on the DV2000s, the ExpressCard Slots are on the LEFT side so maybe that wasn't it after all.

dv2000, 6000 do have a part near PG DN and the arrow keys where it dips down a little.

If its making noise then the keyboard must be installed incorrectly. I believe HP will tell you how to re-seat it

I called HP today and explained my problem with the keyboard. The rep didn't mention any re-seat procedure. I told him I wanted to return and exchange for a new one. He said I would have to pay the current price w/any rebates. He told me the exact same configuration I have would cost me $450 more. Of course, I didn't agree to that. I asked if he would pay $450 more to exchange a defective product. He didn't respond. (I actually talked to someone in U.S.)

I told him that I don't want to cancel this order and place a new one. I just want to do one to one exchange. Apparently, with customized notebooks they are not able to do that. So I told him I will just return the laptop for full refund and buy another laptop some other time.

I am little confused by HP's policy. Oh well. I received Thinkpad T61 for work and it feels really nice. Maybe I will buy that for personal use instead...

I have flex on the arrow keys and the 'end' key too. The keys make a loud click when hitted and when I press on key, the other surrounding keys move too. It doesn't bother me that much as I don't use the arrows keys a lot, but yes, that is an inconvenience.

    Your english is fine

The special editions come with a glossy bright keyboard.

The standard edition keyboard just looks like a normal keyboard.

They must have replaced it with the standard edition keyboard. Ill take a photo of both keyboards later.

    hi,
i'm having the same problem. the lower right side keys are giving a broken feeling. and those are the keys which we will use a lot. but cant take the pain of sending it back. so gonna have to live with that. i believe this is one of the reasons why they are giving discounts on this notebook.
