Ok So my fan was starting to make noises like it was failing. I took my laptop, dv2000z, apart and found that the fan looked okay. I bent out the supports abit and put it back together. Well I made a boo boo.

The ZIF(?) cable that connects from the touchpad to the board came off on both ends. I attached it and thought I had it right...it wasnt. Then I took it apart and put it in another way. Now the touchpad lights up orange.

Any help? Do I just need to enable it?I do know I have the connector in the correct way to the board. I am not 100% sure on the touchpad side.

The Zif connectors and ribbons are pretty fragile, it wouldn't of been difficult to damage either of them. Have you tried resetting the pad in Control Panel > Mouse Properties > Device setting and at the bottom of the dialog box.
