Went to buy some dvds this morning to use for the restore disks for my new dv41120us I'll be getting in two days (all it says is it burns light scribed dvds)...Also will be backing up music files..Walking around, I saw there were several different kinds of dvds to choose from..DVD -R, DVD -RW, DVD +R, DVD +RW, DVD -RAM, etc.

What type of dvd do I need? Please excuse my stupidity..thank you for all comments.. :)

You can download and run Nero InfoTool, and check what sort of media your ODD supports....

Most modern drives will support DVD-R and DVD+R. DVD+/-RW just means rewritable, it should handle that as well.
