I recently purchased a HP dv4026. My mum has a dv 4012 (I think)...well one of the slightly older versions anyway. I'm just wondering if the batteries for both laptops will be the same and therefore interchangable. She has a spare battery and would using that in my laptop cause any damage? I'm guessing it should be fine...but these things are always best to check out. Thanks in advance for any answers to this.

It should not be a problem. The dv4012 and dv4026 are essentially the same laptop with slightly different specifications. So the batteries will be the same and interchanging them should not be a problem.
