I am going to be getting a new dv4000 with the extended battery soon, and I am just wondering if anyone with this computer with the 12 cell battery can give me the exact dimensions of the computer after the battery is taken into account. I cannot tell if the dimensions on HP's website or any reviews are with or without the extended battery.

The listed dimensions are 14.11 x 10.16 x 1.67. Are these the dimensions with the 6 or 12 cell, and what are the dimensions with the 12 cell battery attached?

    Thanks guys!!

I think those are with 6-cell. With 12 cell it would protrude in the bottom making it something like 2.5" for thickness(may be more).

See this review for information about the dv4000 with a 12 cell battery.

I've read that review, but nowhere in it does it mention the dimensions of the computer with the battery or exactly how far from the computer the battery protrudes on either side (bottom or back). I need to let the guy I might be getting a Crumpler bag off of know so he and I know which bag I should get. BTW, if anyone here has a dv4000 and a Crumpler bag, which do you have? For that matter, what bag do you use to carry your dv4000?

    Thanks guys!!

I got the dv4000 with the 12cell battery. I can't mesure exactly its dimensions, the battery sticks out like about 1 finger. :D But it does fit easily on my old 15' laptop bag. If you can stand a little bit more of weight, buy the 12 cell battery, its life is amazing.
