anybody experience a preference between the two? I've found on hpshopping.com that the V4000T is $80 cheaper with same configuration than dv4000. Anybody have insight which is better?

Both machines are basically the same, however, the DV4000 has the QuickPlay feature which lets you play DVD movies and mp3s without booting up to Windows plus you can get earbuds and a remote control with it. Otherwise, they are the same basically.
