Yesterday I spilled coffee over my DV4000 notebook. I was able to quickly trickle away the coffee from my notebook and it is still working fine, but now my keyboard has become very sticky - and I have to press keys really hard. This morning I was trying if I can wipe the sticky remnants of coffee underneath the keys of my keyboard and I accidentally pulled off my "C" Key . It is still there attached to the keyboard but its top part has somehow comeoff and it is sticking out (see attached pic).

I will really appreciate your help - can I put the "C" key back in original condition? I also want to clean and remove the sticky coffee that has dried up below the keys. I have bunch of homeworks to finish by tomorrow and now i am stuck in this stupid thing :(

You can probably fix the C key if you didn't break anything (ie the plastic swing hinges). But it really looks like you need a new keyboard. In any event you need to take the old one out to clean, but that may be a lost cause. The good news is, it looks like only a few screws to get the keyboard out.

If it were me, I would order another keyboard and plug an external one in until it arrives.

    Hope this helps,

I have a question regarding this. I have two keys that one cameo off I snapped it back in and it' crooked, the other I have the trhee parts the key, the rubber cushion and the white hinge. I can't seem to get them back on correctly do I have to buy a new keyboard, I didn't spill anything on it?
