I'm having an issue displaying a picture properly on my Vizio 720p 26" LCD via HDMI. No matter what resolution, the desktop extends beyond the border of the screen as my mouse will move past it into the area I can't see, and the screen doesn't scroll like it normally would in windows when the resolution is set too high. The NVIDIA control panel can't even get the 720p option to display properly. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

There should be a button on your monitor that allows you to change the setting from "HDMI AV" to "HDMI PC". This will fix your problem.

You always need to remember that your external has its own display settings independent of what your PC has. While these are typically color, gamma, contrast and other similar settings, most LCD's also have Stretch, Dot-by-Dot, Super Stretch and Zoom settings as well. So even if your NVIDIA resolution is set to match the external resolution of the LCD, local LCD settings will affect the local display output that is actually seen.

Check your Vizio's display settings - Cinema settings, Stretch, Dot, Zoom, any display configurations you may have that changes the display you see.

    2 things:

    1) i am having this problem too on my new samsung 50" plasma! i will try the suggestions listed above.

    2) if anyone is in the market for a great tv - you need to get the samsung 50" plasma tv i got! it's 720p (don't LOL) and i got it for only $809 (before taxes) at sears AND with free delivery!

it's not the highest end elite tv since i wasnt looking to pay north of 1500 for one... i spent less than 900 on this and have it connected to my dv7t. i watch hulu on my 50" tv like it's regular tv :-D

Do what Kevinf just said. You drag the arrows to make the desktop fit your TV.
