Alrighty, so I've got me a problem with my shiny new laptop.
For about a week, I've been getting complete system lockups under heavy network usage. For example, transferring files from my desktop computer to it, it'll lock up completely and I'll have to forcibly restart it with the power button.
I've removed the junk that it came with, and keep it updated through Windows Update, and I'm still confused as to what would make this happen.
Specs:
Vista Home Premium 64 bit
P8400 2.26 GHz processor
2 GB RAM
802.11 b/g, no Bluetooth
That's all the important stuff, I guess...I'm really lost as to why it's doing this. I haven't found any similar cases in all of my Googling, the only thing remotely close is that the calculated time of completion freezes. In my case, the whole system just refuses to do anything.

Actually, I seem to have fixed it. I manually installed the latest drivers for the Broadcom chip from the HP site, and I think it's gotten better. No crashes under transferring files.

When I was unzipping a 7gb file on my external harddrive my laptop locked up, but I let it sit there for about 20 minutes and all was fine. Since there's a lot of hard drive activity the GUI locks up.

It was just that folder and the winrar window that locked, rest was fine and usable.

Nevermind, mine's freezing again. It was fine for a couple transfers, but now it returns. It locks up in Firefox as well.
dv4t freezes on network usage.
