Get the HDX 16, better options and its cheaper. But id rather go with the dv5t in your case.
-
14.1" and 15.4" that's the big difference. dv4t, is, of course, smaller. It has LED screen, a 1280x800 resolution, and a lower video card. 15.4" is mobility with access to the 9600M GT gpu... etc.
I'd think dv4t would use less battery life, but it's 6 cell high cap says 3 hours and 15 minutes while the dv5t's says 3 hours and 30 minutes (in reality, i tested, i got 2 hours and 40 minutes~) -
you can get 3 hours and 30 mins on the dv5t if you have integrated graphics and run on power saver easily.I'm sure the dv4t is comparable but im not quite sure.
If your gonna carry it around get the dv4t
If you just occasionally gonna carry it around get the 15, its easier on the eyes a tad. -
If you want to get a reliable product that is not only portable, but also the best bang for the buck, grab the DV5T. As always there are pros and cons to each choice. The DV5T has a more future proof graphics card and nowadays everything is centered around graphical interfaces. My friend has the DV2700T which has the same screen dimensions. Honestly, I couldn't stand a screen smaller than 15 inches. The DV5T is good for both entertainment and educational purposes whereas the DV4T is more or less optimized for portability only.
The DV5T and DV4T are similar in weight but the DV5T is WAY superior performance wise. The DV5T has a longer battery life with the hi-cap 6 cell, stronger graphics card, more hard drive space and a lower price tag.
YOU DECIDE! -
