I didn't get much response in the which should I buy forum, so here's my dillema.

Let me start by saying that I am very interested in the new Macbooks but seeing as how I am comfortable in Windows and use a few Windows Only programs for work, I can't justify paying the premium for Apple and OSX. So the HP seems to be a decent all around machine in performance and looks. I'm also open to suggestions.

I'm wondering which you guys would prefer, I'm torn between the pros/cons of each of the following. Setups and current price are below.

    dv4t - LED backlit screen, smaller/lighter
dv5t - Higher Res screen, Larger Hardrive, Graphics card (But I play no games), More RAM (But I'll be using a 32 bit OS)

    DV4T - $1099
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P8400 (2.26 GHz)
    Display 14.1" diagonal WXGA High-Definition HP LED (1280 x 800)
Memory FREE Upgrade to 3GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
Graphics card 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS
Hard drive 250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
Both have HDMI port which is something I'm looking for

    DV5T - $1054
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P8400 (2.26 GHz)
    Display 15.4" diagonal WSXGA+ High-Definition HP (1680 x 1050)
Memory FREE Upgrade to 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
Graphics card 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT
Hard drive FREE Upgrade to 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
Both have HDMI port which is something I'm looking for

dv4 if your not gonna play games. A 14" is the best compromise between power and portability.

Also 1280x800 is sufficient enough for a 14"

yea, i kinda regret not buying a DV5 coz i need the better graphics card. But in all fairness i didn't know i would be using the notebook for gaming at the time. If ur not gonna game then i agree with flipfire, u'll need the portability.
