Can someone explain these? Are both needed for the volume and mute keys to work as well as play/paul skip etc? I am running into an issue on bootup where something sort of drags and I think its the software that goes with these buttons. If I try to use the system to early I can crash explorer. I was able to do this on two brand new laptops. Or would I be better installing the lastest Sound driver, quick touch?

Quicklaunch is to launch the quicklaunch software- the HP multimedia player.
If you disable it, all the keys will work, besides the 2 for the Quicklaunch software, but all the other standard keys will work just fine.

Quicktouch is just the onscreen display for the volume that pops up....

Actually im pretty sure that you dont need either of those programs. Quickplay is just HP's media player.... and quicktouch makes the little noise when you turn the volume up or down, and it makes whataver you touch show up on the screen. so if you delete both of them you wont have hp's media player or the annoying little click every time you use them.
