I may be ordering a dv4z tonight but had a question. I am considering to max out the CPU and order the ZM-84 AMD chip.

My question is this - does anyone here have a dv4z with the ZM-84 chip? Any issues with heat or any notable differences between this processor vs. the lowest processor they offer?

Just wondering. By looking at the bus speed specs, i think the AMD would run hotter than an intel chip, but im just guessing that.

I would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this.

    Thanks in advance,
    - tsd

I saw a compaq laptop with a rm-70 in it and it was running at 70°C idle. When the cpu down clocked it ran at 500mhz also which was pretty crazy to me. I have a dv4t that is pretty high speced with a 9200m gs 512mb and a p8400 that im about to post in the buy sell section if you want to help me out =D

My dv4z with ZM-82 is running 50C plus or minus a few at the moment. I can't imagine that the ZM-84 will run much hotter. Configure the 12 cell battery, it helps cooling (props up the back) and having ~5 hours of battery life is kinda neat. The Turion Ultras have better power management than the lesser Turions.
