The laptop is a dv5_2045dx running Windows 7 Home Premium.

Sound played at any volume level comes out broken and fuzzy. If I listen through headphones, the sound is great. Do I need to replace the speakers, or could something else be to blame for the poor audio?

Any ideas on how to identify and resolve the problem would be appreciated.
