    Hi,

I have a dv5-1235dx that i wiped clean and installed Windows 7 Professional. My first round of updates took care of most drivers like scrolling and sound. My laptop has the touch sensitive button up top for volume, mute, play, pause etc.

The volume buttons work but the volume bar no longer displays on screen and it doesnt "click" as you change the volume.

I have the HP page for drivers http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3860525&lang=en& but dont know what i need. I installed HP quick launch buttons but that didnt do it.

Does anyone know which driver it is? Also which ones should i get and is there a specific way to install them or just run them?

    Thanks,
    Tom

Same on my dv6700t. Would be interesting to know the answer to your question, but frankly, I'm not losing any sleep over it either.

True, i mean the button works but you just dont get the on-screen image. Its no big deal but it would be nice to have.

Also wanted to ask about other required drivers i might need.

I think you're looking for the HP QuickLaunch buttons driver, which can be downloaded on the website that you mentioned. However, if all you want is an on-screen display of the volume, 3VRX is a better alternative, since it doesn't have the bloat present in the driver.

Hmm, maybe it was QuickTouch, not QuickLaunch. This software cannot be found on the drivers list for Windows 7. You need to get it from the Vista driver list. It should be able to work, but if not, use 3RVX.

Did you install a 64-bit version of Win 7? If so, HP's OSD software (QuickTouch), the latest version doesn't have an OSD anymore. As mentioned, 3RVX is a very nice alternative. I'd go with that as it's much more reliable. Uses about the same amount of resources as well as HP's OSD solution.

Yea 64-bit (sorry). Is quick touch the same as the quick launch buttons i installed? Im guessing i dont need the quick launch buttons prog anymore too? Thanks!
