No, but mine came with some glue-ish stuff on it that look like scratches.
All I did was wipe very hard with the cloth that came with the notebook.
Hopeful that's just the case with you. -
I have series of thin 1cm vertical scratches starting from the left of the screen continuing upto the right.....dont know why that has happened but I suspect some unevenness near the touch sensitive panel has been making contact with the screen....(not enough clearance between the screen and the bezel)...What can I do?
I think the infinity display is too hard to maintain.. -
How old is it? Is it still within the 21-day return period?
-
If so, I would exchange it for one without the infinity. Have you thought about getting the dv4t with the LED display? If I could, I would have gotten that instead.
-
No...
I got this on the 20th of September...I have got thins mainly for home use...and even though dv4 models were available they did not have the LED display..anyway i wanted the dv5t itself...The model that retails here is dv5-1015tx...and the only screen option is WXGA brightview infinity...anything I can do now? Because this has happened unknowingly.. -
No scratches just a smashed broken peice of plexi glass in the trash
-
You could send it in to HP and tell them that it was built with problems. And have them fix it for free since its under warranty.
-
But I had already called the service center....they told me that...."physical damages are not covered under warranty. If its a known issue and the same damage has occured on other dv5's also, then lets see..".
-
Ask for a case manager. I have heard of people getting their notebooks back from repair scratched and raised hell about it and had them replaced or somthing.
-
Tell them the physical damage was due to the notebook's physical defects. Don't take no for an answer, but be nice.
Keep asking for a case manager...or call their # directly. I don't remember their # though, but someone around here should know...
dv5 users with Infinity display..
