    Hi,

Am new to notebooks, and just purchased the Best Buy HP dv5-1125nr, and am looking to get an extra battery (international travel time).

I don't know which battery and where to purchase one. I'm not even sure whether there is a 8, 9, or 12 cell model that's compatible- do all dv5's use the same ones?

I found a 12-cell Multi-Charge Extended Battery on the HP site. Anybody know anything about this?

    http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/s...ze&v1=12-cell&product_code=KS526AA&catLevel=2

Anyone have any suggestions? websites? newegg?

    thanks!

The dv5 should have been offered with 3 types of batteries, 6cell, hi capacity 6cell and extended 12cell.

The notebook should have came stock with a 6cell which last 2-3 hours. The high capacity 6cell has around 20% more capacity.

The extended 12cell you posted will last twice as long, though it will be heavier. It will stick out a little and raise the notebooks back in an typing angle which is also a good cooling aid.

I believe HP is offering rebates and free delivery so that might be the best place to purchase it.
