    dv5000 keyboard scramble problem

    hi, just checking to see if this has occurred elsewhere.

    sometimes my keyboard will occasionally mix up the mapping. so far, i can tell that the esc button becomes the windows button, and g becomes f2. i'm not sure how it reverts back to normal, i think i press ctrl+alt+del and it fixes it.

    i have not tried the fix that sledgehammer recommended yet, but i will see if the connections are loose.
    anyone?

    Hi Nosabi,
    Nope haven't had any keyboard problems. Of course I should mention that I use a USB keyboard when I am not using the machine on the road. I feel it is alot less hassle to replace a worn out USB keyboard than it is to get the built in one repaired when it wears out. Same reason I use a USB mouse instead of the touch pad.

    I've found that since I started using a USB mouse with my dv5020 I haven't had any keyboard problems with the shift key and caps lock etc. which I did have before when using the touchpad.
