    dv5000t LCD gone dead

    hi all,

    Just yesterday when i boot up my notebook the screen splitted into 3 smaller screens and there was huge black line in the middle even from the bios screen.. i restarted several times but no luck..then it started blinking and then it gone dead completely.. although the system is booting up.. do u v any ideas wats happening.. i'm really not happy with the build quality of dv5000t, the keyboard and sound buttons are uneven.. the fan started making noise.. and now this one.. i'm really having lots of trouble since i'v purchased it.. :(

    It's under warranty, right? Call HP and get them to replace it.

    well yeah this is what i'm gona do, i just posted to know if someone else having these issues or not.. but the worst thing is HP Customer Service sucks atleast in London, Last month i got an experience and i'v to do it again now .. btw do they have complete replace policy, anybody knows this?

    Only if it has needed the *same* repair at least 3 times...though a CS rep might take pity on people...might.

    I feel your pain. They suck here in the US too. It took me months and multiple issues to finally get HP to take care of my problems. And then the FedEx guy doesn't even attempt to deliver it back and just drives off like a bat out of hell! :mad:

    can somebody tell me how to switch to secondary external monitor so that i can attach some external monitor in order to take back up of my laptop data, as i dont know how can i do that as my laptop lcd is dead.

    well i think there should be some shortcut key that can switch to secondary monitor, does somebody know wats the shorcut keys in HP notebooks?

    Plug a vga cable in the vga out on the let sight. I think it is FUN + F5 to switch to monitor out. Look along the F keys or number keys, I cant remember.
